Why should I have my dryer vent cleaned?
Cleaning your dryer vent helps prevent fire hazards, improves your dryer’s efficiency, reduces energy costs, and extends the life of your appliance.
How long would it take?
Dryer vent cleaning typically takes 30 to 60 minutes. However, the duration may vary depending on factors such as vent accessibility, working at heights, and weather conditions. Our technician will provide a more accurate estimate after an on-site assessment.
Do I need to be home for the service?
Yes. Someone should be present to give us access to the dryer and confirm everything is working properly afterward.
What are common signs the dryer vent needs cleaning?
- Ice or snow on roofs or access points
- Clothes take longer to dry
- Dryer feels hot or overheats
- Burning or musty odors during operation
- Excessive lint around the dryer or vent opening
- Vent hood flap doesn’t open properly
Why is parking required?
To perform the cleaning, our technicians connect a pressurized air hose from the duct truck to your dryer vent. This hose needs a clear, unobstructed path to the exterior vent.
For safety reasons, vehicles cannot drive over the hose while it is in use. Driveway or curbside parking on the same side of the home as the exterior vent is ideal.
If parking is not available, please notify us in advance.
What if parking is not available at my location?
In the absence of parking, we can use portable equipment instead of our truck-mounted system. Please note that this may increase the time required and may incur additional fees.
Do you service condominiums?
Yes, we offer dryer vent cleaning in condos. These jobs require portable equipment, as truck access is usually limited.
In some buildings, booking a service elevator or loading dock may be required—please check with your property management before the appointment.
Why does pricing increase with higher exterior vent caps?
For vents located on second stories or higher, extra equipment (such as ladders or platforms) and a two-person crew are required for safe and effective access.
Because most clogs occur at the exterior vent cap, reaching and cleaning it thoroughly is essential to ensure proper airflow and prevent future issues.
This added complexity is reflected in the pricing.
Can dryer vent cleaning be done in extreme weather?
Service may be rescheduled due to unsafe weather conditions, particularly when work is required at height. This includes:
- Ice or snow on roofs or access points
- Heavy rain
- Extreme heat
We will contact you as soon as possible if rescheduling is necessary.
I recently had my vent cleaned, but my clothes still aren’t drying—why?
Dryer vent cleaning improves airflow, but drying also depends on heat. To check if your dryer is producing heat:
- Set it to a regular cycle (e.g., Cottons or Normal)
- Run it for 5 minutes
- Stop the cycle and turn off the dryer
- Carefully touch the inside of the drum
If the drum is cold, your dryer’s heating element or thermostat may be faulty. We recommend contacting the manufacturer (if under warranty) or a certified appliance technician.
How should I prepare for my appointment?
To help us complete the job efficiently and safely:
- Reserve a parking space near your home
- Secure all pets indoors
- Remove any laundry from the dryer
- Close all windows (to prevent lint blowback)
- Clear snow, ice, or obstructions from walkways and entry points
